In this article, I will explain how to add Windows server in Veeam Backup and Replication. We will learn how to quickly and securely back up our data with Veeam software. Before adding the Windows server to the Veeam backup infrastructure, first check the network connection settings on this server. Add Windows Server in Veeam
Open the Veeam Backup and Replication console, and then click on the Backup Infrastructure option. From the inventory pane, choose the Managed Servers node, and then click on the Add Server icon.
In the New Windows Server window, in the name field, enter the DNS name or IP address of your Microsoft Windows server.
Write a description for reference. The default description holds information about the user who is going to add the Windows server and the date and time when the server was added. Choose Next
Add Windows Server Credentials
In the Specify server credentials step, choose credentials for the account that has administrator rights on the Microsoft Windows server. If you haven’t yet set up credentials, then click on the Add button.
Enter the Windows Server administrator credentials and a description and then choose ok
Now Veeam backup and replication will use these credentials (username and password) to deploy its components on the added server.
If you want to customize network ports used by Veeam backup components, then click on the Ports button. Click next
Add a new Windows Server review page, and review what Veeam Backup and Replication components will be installed on this Windows Server system.
Click on the Apply button to add the Windows server to the Veeam backup infrastructure.
Add a new Windows server apply page, completing the procedure for adding a Microsoft Windows server.
Review the details of the Windows server and then choose next.
Review the summary of the new Microsoft Windows server created, and then choose Finish to exit the wizard.
Verify Windows Server
Windows Server was successfully added to the managed servers.
