In this article, I will show you how to use quick migration Veeam backup and replication. How to migrate a running virtual machine from one VMware host to another host without vMotion and with as little downtime as possible. You can migrate one or more virtual machines using a quick migration. Quick Migration permits you to migrate virtual machines or virtual disks between VMware ESXi hosts and datastores. Veeam backup and replication support virtual machines or their disks in any state with minimum disturbance to business operations. Quick Migration Virtual Machine
From the Veeam backup and replication inventory option, under virtual infrastructure, expand VMware vSphere and select an ESXi host in which the virtual machine that you want to relocate resides.
Choose a virtual machine that you wish to migrate, and then click Quick Migration.
Quick migration virtual machines wizard, click next.
Quick Migration Veeam Destination
Choose the destination host, resource pool, VM folder, and datastores. Click on the Choose button next to the host and cluster options.
Select a cluster or ESXi host where you need the relocated virtual machine to be registered, and then choose OK.
If you want to change the resource pool, then select the target resource pool.
Specify the VM folder.
Click on datastore under datastore if you need to change the datastore.
Select a datastore, and then click OK.
Click next
Quick migration data transfer option: choose next.
Quick migration ready page; review the details of the quick migration.
Enable the delete source virtual machine files; upon a successful migration, the source virtual machine will be deleted. All the jobs to which the VM is added will switch to the migrated virtual machine.
Choose the Finish button to close the quick migration wizard and start the migration process.
A quick migration job is in progress.
Delete Instant Disk Recovery
Click on instant recovery, and then click on stop publishing.
